I have chipped my fiber tripod already. Nothing major, but I thought it would be tougher.
I have a few bangs on my old aluminum one and paint chipping. Nothing that impacts performance. No corrosion at all. I think it would be a decade or more for modern aluminum alloys to start corroding.

I said screw it and ordered the cf Vanguard Alta + from B&H. Can't wait-should get here just in time for my trip to the Catskills. Now I just need a macro lens to take advantage of the multi position center column.
