The purpose of these challenges are to encourage us to get out and get the best shot of an assigned subject. It's a great way to enhance your photography skills.
Even if you think you take crappy pictures, please join in. Those of you just reading the forum and not posting, this is your chance to join in and show off.

This month's challenge: Lights

Only rules:
It has to be taken by you.
It has to be taken in Upstate NY

A winner will be selected based on the following criteria:
  • subject
  • creativity
  • use of color (or lack thereof)
  • uniqueness
The December winner will get a cool little gadget. Its a carabiner clip for water bottles. You can clip your water bottle to your bag or whatever for hiking, walking, running, flying, floating and sinking. I have one- I love it.

This could be an interesting challenge. I haven't taken many pictures at night so it will be a test of my skills.

This one might be a lost cause for me because anything I have tried to take at night turned out really bad

I am going along with the other comments, my night shots have turned out craptacular. Though I did see some really cool shots in last months American Photo by Nigel Barker. He took all the photos at night, with up to hour long exposures!!

Try taking some lights inside (Christmas tree, candles) where you can set up a tripod (or put the camera on furniture) and stay warm. :star:
