About me:
I love to tell folks that I'm a
native Rochesterian. I'm also a proud product of our
public school system, including college at SUNY Geneseo.
I was fairly able to follow my passions in school:
music, English and history. Since I wasnʼt serious
enough to become an accomplished violinist, I ended up
teaching. In teaching English and history one becomes a
forever student; both are ever changing.
The student part of me is what brought me
to NYFalls. Photography, for fun or purpose is
constantly changing and I need direction, help, a
teacher. NYFalls provides a community of teachers!
I've shared my photo efforts on
Capture Rochester and with friends but I'm not a
professional in any sense of the word. While I may have
“The Eye” for some fine results, I'm not at all
technically inclined. Shutter speed settings and lens
options boggle me, but I'm learning.
What I bring to NYFalls is a great
appreciation for the art of photography and the unending
excitement I get in researching the areas that NYFalls
photographers explore and record with cameras. Yes, I
try to hunt down history or interesting tid-bits about
the photo projects that are pursued.
Like so many of us who never leave
home without a camera, Iʼm open to any photo adventure.
A colorful weed on the side of the road, wonderful light
sneaking out between clouds, or a powerful old building
in a city may just pull my car to the side of the road.
While there are incredible subjects awaiting the
photographerʼs perspective the adventure, for me, is in
the capture.
So, you could run into me anywhere
when youʼre out for a shoot. Iʼll have my trusty point
and shoot if itʼs a spur of the moment sort of thing and
two cameras if there is purpose to my photo adventure. I
may be on my knees or perched upon rock. Do say hello if
you see me!
