this tunnel. The tunnel was constructed though solid
rock by means of a steam power drill in 1906.

Park, one of the oldest public parks in the United
States, is on Main Street of the community. Famous
Watkins Glen was opened to the public on July 4,
1863 by Morvalden Ells, a newspaperman.
