I used the same technique I use on waterfalls to smooth out the water. i have a few more angles I'm working on. I'll post them when done.
The smokiness is due to the white of the waves. If you look closely you'll see a little orange fibers in the upper right of that photo. that's the sunset reflecting in the water.
I think one of these I may make availible for purchase in November when prints start goign on sale. When blown up they look amazing, and they are some of the few photographs I'm proud of.

great shots! isn;t it a fantastic place for photos..... i was beside myself with excitement when i saw how absolutely alien the landscape looked with hard frost on everything.......
the second shot is great......... but theres something about those pebbles that makes me feel very connected .... i love the subtle colour and rhythm of the stones texture.
