I believe there is a group that follows these people to intercept them with violence...can't remember what they were called though. Have to look that up I guess......

I found the link to the story: http://www.wtvh.com/news/local/14290202.html I would normally copy & paste the article for viewing convenience, but I don't want to waste the space on them. I truly hope that they are unsuccessful today. My heart goes out to this young man's family.

I don't know of a group that follows them with violent intentions, though that may well be. I am aware of the Patriot Guard Riders, who attend funerals by invitation, but they only act as a "buffer" to protect the families non-violently. I understand that they will be there today as well.

All calm at funeral for Waterville soldier John Sigsbee
Posted by Nolan Weidner January 25, 2008 10:11AM

Waterville, NY _ All was calm as today's funeral for fallen soldier John Sigsbee began at 10 a.m. at Waterville High School.

Members of a Kansas extremist group that had threated to protest at the funeral were not seen anywhere in the tiny Oneida County village, about 35 miles southeast of Syracuse. The group, which calls itself Westboro Baptist Church, holds virulent anti-homosexual views. It stages demonstrations at memorial services for soldiers killed in Iraq because its members feel that God is punishing America, via war casualties, for its permissive attitude toward gays.

The auditorium was full at the start of the memorial for Sigsbee, 21, who died Jan. 16 along with two other soldiers when their patrol came under fire about 50 miles north of Baghdad.

Prior to the full military funeral, at least 60 members of a group called the Patriot Guard Riders held American flags as they lined a hallway leading to the school auditorium. Members of that group, along with a number of veterans, attended the service, in part, to shield the Sigsbee family from any potential protests.

Several Patriot Guard members said they were happy none of the extremists showed up on Friday.

"You should never intrude on a family's grief," said Peg Czarnecki of Herkimer, a ride captain for the Patriot Guard.

After the funeral, Sigsbee's body was to be taken for burial at Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.

Roy Scheider died on sunday at the age of 75 of a staph infection. In case y'all don't know, staph infections are fairly common, and people don't usually die from them. Something strange there.
He was best known from the Jaws movies.

The best scene from that movie, or one of the best scenes from any movie for that matter is the first 30 seconds of this...
