It is Mirror Lake, right next to Lake Placid and the actual town of Lake Placid is built up around it.

We have a winner!!!

This was one of the toughest challenges to judge. Everyone had winning-worthy entries. And some were amazing photos that I would love to set as my desktop wallpaper. What It boiled down to was not so much technically good photo, but a phenomenal photo. And this one is. Because it captures, and does it well, a natural phenomena few of us have witnesses and certainly sparks interest among members.
Well done, and congratulations on your first star!

Yeah. Once you win a challenge, you definitely need to divulge your real name! ;)

This is such a lovely shot! Congratulations! I love that you included the stop sign in the extreme lower left. Just that little detail really helps make this the image to beat. It is a stunning photograph. Great job!
