We have a winner!
What an exciting challenge! I really enjoyed guessing at what those strange, yet familiar, textures and shapes were. And we hit 5 pages, what I consider the benchmark for a successful challenge. It was a tough time going through all the awesome shots to get a winner. It came out to a shootout between Kelly and Mikell. Kelly's sponge candy had my mouth watering and the yeast baffled me. Mikell's Apple stem was abstract yet familiar. It came down to a burst of color and tight, almost radial composition in this strawberry macro.

Thanks Matt & Kelly!

People are going to think that Kelly and I had way too much time on our hands in March!
I'm just glad I'm able to get out of the kitchen and outside to follow bumblebees around my yard now! ...a much better use of time. ;)

Kelly had great shots ...I always love her macros (the egg carton was my fav)....and Matt - you had a couple of pretty good ones too....although that corned beef was a little too close for me! hahaha

I did learn a little more about macro by participating in this challenge...and that's the idea right?

this was one of my favorite challenges and picking a winner was tough. Expect this topic to return in future years (along with Geometry, which stumped me) and perhaps an insect macro challenge later in the summer.
