Ha! Good question.....! This is the first downward pointing finger I've seen since I've been regularly tramping around cemeteries - and here's what a quick Google tells me:
A hand with the index finger pointing upward symbolizes the hope of heaven, while a hand with the index finger pointing down represents God reaching down for the soul.

Like #4 the best. I think i would crop out the head stones in the top upper hill cause the "Slice" look of those tombstones seems to offer up some hidden story. Like a small village cemetery suddenly never got used again for some odd reason.
