If you didn't have your birding lens...what lens did you have? I'd say it did the job quite well!

They look great on mobile. I rented a 70-200 lens and have been trying to get some bluebird pics at the bluebird preserve here in Victor but nada.

Bluebirds, eh? I've been trying for a few years on and off to get anything decent. The other day while looking for bugs at a local park, one landed within 10 feet of me and I got him! They always look so sad.....poor guys.
I didn't know about the Victor Preserve. Sounds neat! Keep at it. When you say "nada", do you mean you haven't seen any? Or that you haven't been successful in getting a good shot?
Anyway here are just 2 more of the waxwing pics from my second day. It was about 10 hotter this day, and they all had their mouths open, the whole afternoon. I didn't realize it, but apparently they pant like dogs as a way of cooling off. Makes 'em look a little simple, dontcha think!
