Rose River and Dark Hollow Falls - Shenandoah NP Virginia

This was one of the most enjoyable waterfall hikes I've ever done. This is a 4-mile loop that starts between mileposts 49 and 50 on the Skyline Drive. Most of the hike follows two mountain streams that are continuous moderate cascades punctuated by 70-foot falls. Upper Dark Hollow falls was crowded because it is close to the Byrd Visitor Center, but the rest of the trail was pleasant, even on the holiday weekend. The light was a bit harsh, and the leaves, mostly oaks, were beginning to turn.

wow, these are simply awesome pictures. Especially the one with the bridge and the golden leaves in the back. They really seem to glow. :D
I've never been to Shenandoah NP, it's still on my Must See list. Your hike sounds really interesting, George.
