I tried to get a photo of one of my feeders during the snowstorm the other day, but I couldn't get a decent one. I thought that it would be a good subject for the "Out of Place" challenge.

I'm rather surprised that I haven't seen any yet. Any day now, I'm sure...

Thanks for the reminder. I'll see if I can find my feeder. I have the new long lens, I may as well try to use it.

I have horrible luck with birds. I had the feeder out... have seen them... no camera ready... then now the season is pretty much done with.

I'm starting to think maybe the males have already started their trip south. Have only seen females/juveniles at our feeders over the last 3 or 4 days! Anyone else seeing the same?

Males do leave first but It seems a bit too early to me. I see them the most during mid August through early September as they are loading up on nectar to help power them across the Gulf of Mexico. I'd be posting photos but the new Flickr doesn't let me do links...

Yeah, I thought it seemed early too, Joel......but I've taken literally thousands of photos of them over the past week - at all times of day.....and not a single (adult) male since Saturday!

I'd love to hear if you spot one!
