This is a great topic. Instead of an Ansel Adams wannabe, I'm a Cartier-Bresson wannabe.

Kyle, I think you are. "On the street" just means outdoors - out and about - doing everyday stuff. (As in "street clothes" - we don't just wear those when we're literally only "on the street.") Uh-oh, I'm starting to have flashbacks of the 3.14 photo.......
I am strong, because I've been weak.
I am fearless, because I've been afraid.
I am wise, because I've been foolish.

I'm not going to clearly define what the challenge is looking for... it is always open to interpretation.

Street, sidewalk, parking lot... sure that all seems to fit.... ties in well with the topic and will probably add points.
Lawn, garden, indoors, in water... not so much.

be creative...

Ok thanks for the clarification. :D

My interpretation of the challenge was people we don't know in public places...hence the drunks at the festival.
To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams.

could be

It's like this...
if the subject was
"he's got the whole world in his hand"

would everyone take photos of a male holding a globe?
wouldn't be too fun.
that phrase has a non-literal meaning.
but someone that could mix both the literal and the metaphorical could easily take the prize.

So, do the people actually have to be on the street in the winning photo? no
Does the street have to be in the pic? no
Does it help? absolutely
