That reminds me, I've heard there's a lean-to a little ways above Angel Falls at Conklin Gully, but haven't sought it out yet. Any truth to this?

Ive never seen it but its possible...I think the Bristol spur of the FLT runs through there.

Enjoy the day! Hopefully weather will hold out for the races. The rest of us should still plan to get together, I think. It won't be an "official" NYFalls gathering w/o Matt, but we can still salvage a good day of waterfalling.

Or we could do something else in the am and meet Matt for Grimes when he gets there.

Ok -- so the weekend is approaching. Let's firm up plans for getting together, shall we? The weather is showing daytime temps in the 70's, some cloud cover, and a chance of rain later in the evening/overnight, so it's looking decent.

First, who all is going to be making the trip? I know Ben and I will be there, I'm assuming Kyle is making it.. How about you Chris? Are you going to make it? George -- you mentioned coming and camping the night before. Is that still your goal? Since Matt can't make it til near 1pm if at all, I agree with Kyle that we should explore around Naples a bit before hand, then head to Grimes to meet with Matt in the afternoon. I'm thinking Conklin Gully would be a good starting point for us. We can meet in the parking area(s) on/near Parrish Hill Rd. What time should we meet? I'm thinking around 9am? That should give us time to do Conklin and perhaps a quick lunch before we meet with Matt.

Any suggestions/ideas?

I'm open for Saturday but out for Sunday. So I won't be able to make this one. I'm in Naples at least a few times every summer. I'll post here whenever it looks like we'll be going and maybe we can meet up with someone.
