If you want to go the rustic route...you can camp in Hi Tor free of charge.

That reminds me, I've heard there's a lean-to a little ways above Angel Falls at Conklin Gully, but haven't sought it out yet. Any truth to this?

I didn't realize that is the day of the lilac races. I have to be there to support friends and family.

Enjoy the day! Hopefully weather will hold out for the races. The rest of us should still plan to get together, I think. It won't be an "official" NYFalls gathering w/o Matt, but we can still salvage a good day of waterfalling.
