Perhaps this was posted somewhere but part of Vanbuskirk Gulf near Ithaca will be preserved by the FLLT, town of Ithaca, and Ithaca college.

The second easement includes about 76 acres of woodland owned by the college at Van Buskirk Glen in Newfield. The wooded parcel of land, donated by Bob Robinson to Ithaca College, is listed as a Tompkins County Unique Natural Area. The newly protected land includes a central portion of Van Buskirk Glen, mature woodlands, a steep sided gorge and several water falls
Not sure which waterfalls this includes but here are a few: http://naturalhighs.net/waterfalls/falls05/FernGulf.htm

good news. We tried to visit here last summer but came up on posted signs. Do you know where the access point is to the area that the FLLT now owns? I wonder if its the same entrance to the creek that's described in the Freemans book.

I had found this place last year via mapping and had tried contacting Cayuga Co about its ownership but didnt get an answer back.

I hope this new ownership holds this.....

I hope so too. That's definitely the main falls in Van Buskirk.
