I've said from the beginning....they should let that man step off the edge of a high platform.
To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams.

Thanks Matt for the email address. I'm emailing Paterson my comments about these stupid closings. There was a big email alert going around called "If your in - your out". Which said anybody in was out after election day, because we cannot get things done with the ones that are in there now. And maybe the new ones being voted in would take this to heart and make some good changes for the people instead of what the current ones are doing for themselves !! These officials are elected in at a high price salary. And when they hve a "cut-back" it's NOT coming out of their pockets JUST the low end workers, that's not fair at all. I think they should be in at a lesser pay scale and then after their first year of service, get voted by the people on a possible pay raise for doing a good job !! Then I think you'd see good changes for all.....

Thank you for your email. Feedback from New Yorkers and others is essential to my work as Governor, and it is important to me to know your views and issues of concern. Due to the volume of emails this office receives, it can take some time to provide a personal response to your correspondence. I want to assure you, however, that your email has been received, and will be read and shared with the appropriate members of my staff.
I encourage you to visit my website at http://www.ny.gov/governor/, and please feel free to contact my office again about this matter or any other.
Once again, thank you, and warmest regards.
Sincerely,
Governor David A. Paterson

An interesting editorial that the closure list may only be half the truth. Also that the parks are an economic engine for many small communities upstate

Eleven State Parks and Historic Sites Slated for Closure in Erie Canalway
Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site in the Mohawk Valley and the Old Erie Canal State Park in Central New York are on the list of state parks and historic sites slated for closure released by the Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) last Friday. Of the 41 parks and 14 historic sites to close, 11 are located within the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor.
According to the Governor's press release, OPRHP put forward the list of closures and service reductions in order to achieve its proposed 2010-11 agency savings target and help address the State's historic $8.2 billion deficit.
OPRHP's plan also assumes $4 million in park and historic site fee increases that will be identified at a later date, and the use of $5 million in funds from the Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) to finance OPRHP operations. These two actions were part of the 21-day amendments to the Executive Budget and are intended to reduce the number of parks and historic sites subject to closures and service reductions.
Sites targeted for closure within the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor include:
Saratoga-Capital Region
Schoharie Crossing Historic Site, Schoharie County
Schuyler Mansion Historic Site, Albany Co.
Central New York Region
Chittenango Falls State Park, Madison
Clark Reservation State Park, Onondaga
Fort Ontario State Historic Site, Oswego
Herkimer Home Historic Site, Herkimer
Old Erie Canal State Park, Onondaga
Oriskany Battlefield/Steuben SHS, Oneida
Finger Lakes Region
Bonavista State Park, Seneca
Buttermilk Falls State Park, Tompkins, Close Public Swimming Area
Seneca Lake State Park, Seneca, Close Lake Swimming Beach
