Anyone up for a nighttime photography experiment? In order to kickstart regular outings I'd like to start with a Rochester-based meeting, to take place fater the sun goes down in order to experiment with light painting. What is light painting? Well, you probably have seen it on a million cell phone commercials.

Here's the wiki definition:

Those that would like to get involved should have a camera with a "manual" setting AND a tripod.
NYFalls.com will provide lights

I need dates and a good locations for the meet-up.

Sounds interesting. I'm out of town July 24-28, but I'm pretty flexible otherwise. Location may sway my attending. I live on the south side, so I'd be less likely to show up if it's on Lake Ontario or communities not easily accessible by the interstate.

I am interested, I do not have a tripod, but I will wing it. I am flexible on dates, the location around Rochester, How about Manhattan Square Park ?, Village Gate ?, Schoen Place Pittsford ?, Highland Park ?, High Falls ( might be parking problem if RedWings are home) ?.

Depending on the date and place I'll be there. I have a cheap tripod that's better than none. :camera:
To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams.

I just thought how about Village Gate ? this is weatherproof. I know Flickr-Rochester Group had a model shoot there on the 2nd floor with all kinds of lighting. It is a low light situation in the evening.
