With hiking trails and observation platforms along with a 3 mile drive thru this is a nice place to visit. They also have multiple areas outside of the main refuge to view wildlife. Most of the wildlife you’ll se will be waterfowl but in the outer areas you could see foxes, deer, red, gray and flying squirrels, raccoons, screech owls and more. There are three nesting Eagles in the area along with nesting Osprey. In the visitors center they have a camera on one of the Osprey nest, the nest has three eggs. This is a place to visit thru out the year as the seasons change so does the wildlife. The cost is free with a donation box in the visitors center.

Very nice post Jim! This place certainly merits its own thread. I love the bat photo!

Some pictures from yesterday's visit. Had to try the new lens, I'm pleased with the pictures it takes.

Eagle and young,
sorry about the light sky but had white clouds behind the nest
