Welcome aboard, Winnie!
I've heard great things about and seen great pictures of Cittengango Falls but haven't been there yet and would love to go there someday. A friend of my wife's grew up near there so they both went to visit that falls once a few years back.

Hi everyone,
I just joined, My name is Grace Christy. I live in Cassadaga, NY and work at Allegany State Park. I like photography, watching stars (not predicting the future), and geocaching.

The park has one small waterfall that dries up most summers. Most of my waterfall photos are of Letchworth and Niagara Falls, where I lived for a year.

Interesting...
When I eventually get around to profiling that waterfalls I could use your help with information on the park. :)

Introduction

Postby Yellow Rose » Mon Nov 19, 2007 12:28 pm

Hello.

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and say howdy to y'all.

I grew up in Interlaken and I spent many hours riding my horse through the woods and fields of the Finger Lakes. My BFF introduced me to this site and I have really enjoyed touring through all of the great photos and information. Great job Matt.

I remember a "hidden" waterfall near my house and I need your help in identifying it. The waterfall is in the stream that runs along Potter Road between Route 96 and Route 89. I remember seeing the waterfall during a horseback ride many years ago. Maybe you've seen it too.

Thanks for your time and have a great day!

It sounds like the 50' or so Sheldrake Falls.

If it's the one up behind the old Diamond Farm (now Sheldrake Point Winery), yes it's Sheldrake Falls. It certainly is hidden! I bet there are several decent drops in the creek from 96 to the lake though. It forms quite the little gorge up by her parents house. We used to ride snowmobiles on the train tracks across that gorge just east of 96--scary stuff! Oh yeah, welcome Yellow Rose (and don't make me keep calling you that).

I'm grew up in Texas. I think the yellow rose is the state flower...but what was the blue bonnet? Forget what the Texas connection there is. Anyone know?
