Are you travelling as a photo-focused-photographer, or will you be centering it based on what you would like to see/experience?

My last trip was primarily experience, and way less photo-centric as my previous trips.

Kelly...that sounds amazing!
I would love that too...
someday...maybe you and i can plan a photo trip. :)

Next week, my son and girlfriend will be here from Taiwan...I am taking them to Niagara Falls (she's Chinese...never seen the falls)...
and then for wine tour around Keuka Lake and a meal at the best Mexican restuarant in the country...in Canandaigua...

that's going to be my photographic trip of the summer!

Can't wait to hear all about your vacation and see the photos...of course!!!

Rio Tomatlan?

Yes! I've been hearing about Rio Tomatlan from friends who love, love, love it...and haven't been there myself...but it looks awesome...and now I have an excuse to go.

Hmm. Definitely not traveling as a photo-focused-photographer. I'm not even sure my photographs will be shared publicly with anyone. I'm going with the intention of seeing, smelling, touching, tasting, hearing - and just generally experiencing things, places, languages(5), and people that are unfamiliar to me. The photos I'm able to take will be an added bonus - but they are most certainly not the goal of the trip. My instinct is to photograph things that move me. If I'm moved, I'll shoot.

Have you decided which body/lenses to bring?

Hmmmm. Besides the s95, not sure yet. I think if I choose wisely, I can take just 2 lenses. 3 at most.

I'm thinking Cuba would be great, if one could not do a tour (pretty much impossible for an American right now - even more so if Romney gets elected)
Photos from there would be very marketable in the US too.
