I'm going to China in April.
I was wondering what American souvenirs I could bring as gifts to some friends.
They would have to be small... not illegal to take through customs..... Very American.

So far I've got ...
Pop tarts (maybe on the big side... I can mail it though)
Peeps
Tabasco sauce
[amazon=B001II480G]Bacon Salt[/amazon]
Maple sugar candy (from NY)
Maple syrup (I'm sure I can't bring this... but I'm going to try mailing it to see if it slips through customs)
Jelly Belly Beans

A copy of American Labor Laws(joke)..How about Beef Jerky.

I have a friend that goes about 3 times a year for work for the last 5 years. I can ask her for suggestions if you'd like.
To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams.

My friends who went there to adopt were told American t-shirts are liked - I'd go for local sports teams. Of course, they were taking gifts for strangers, so this may not apply for you.

Are you going for business, pleasure or both? What sites will you get to see?

Shirts will work... I just don't know the sizes. I thought of beef jerky, but there's customs issues with meat products. Nuts are a no go either.

i'm going to China because for once i want to be the tallest person in a country. ;)
