We found a new waterfall on our last visit to Lake Placid named Stag Brook Falls. This and several other falls are located on Whiteface. Park in the parking lot at Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort, and walk up the stone road between the two buildings heading up the mountain. You will come to a telephone pole across the path with a sign in board. The first waterfall is the largest and is approximately 40 ft tall. A round trip to here plus photos took only 30 minutes so it is an easy hike but well worth visiting.

A side note, while we were there we took the 1 hour 4x4 ride up Whiteface and would recommend this to anyone looking for a new perspective of the mountain. Pretty cool and we had a nice driver Brian who shared information on the different parts of the ski slopes and much more on the way up and down. They also have a 2 hour ride available that stops at a few more locations.

Pretty cool, didn't know there was a waterfall there, we've been up the gondola ride several times, and that's a nice trip as well.

We are heading back up later this summer. We were talking about doing the gondola ride. You should checkout the falls next time you are there.

We drove past there just last week when we were up for the 4th. We didn't stop as we were on the way to a hike and the weather wasn't cooperating very well, so we didn't want to delay getting the hike in before it rained. Hope you have decent weather for your trip, it was hit and miss for us last week.

Thanks, that's too bad. Did you have a good hike?

Yeah, it was nice. We did the new-ish trail to Cobble Point near Whiteface. A pretty easy hike with minor ups & downs and a good view of the valley around Wilmington and of the side of Whiteface. We did it early in the morning to beat the afternoon rain, then had lunch at the A&W, mostly for the root beer.

Went here again but this time continued on up the trail. Found there are a bunch more falls but smaller than the first.
