They say this weekend is about the best its going to get, but I have have to agree with Matt.
“There’s an inconsequentiality to our lives that living in the wilderness shows up. Mountain are real, they set their limits, they set ours. They expose us, make us vulnerable and strong at the same time. “

I don't remember seeing such a variation in color change over such a small area - ever - like I see this year. Just within Monroe County, there are areas of bare trees within a mile of trees that have barely begun to change. In the next mile, there will be gorgeous, brilliant peak color. I'm seeing it even in my own yard like never before. It's wacky, I say - WACKY!
I am strong, because I've been weak.
I am fearless, because I've been afraid.
I am wise, because I've been foolish.

We were commenting on the same exact phenomena driving through central Pennsylvania last weekend. At first I thought maybe the hillsides were facing different directions. (i.e. south slopes stay warmer and color change is slower) But there was no rhyme or reason to it. weird.
What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lives within us. ~Henry David Thoreau
