I even had a long lost friend check in. The odd thing is that I thought she was dead (she was very ill with cancer). Turns out she is doing fine.
Have you been staying in contact? Wondering if they have some better insight as to the actual severity of the nuke plant. There is speculation that Japan is not reporting accurate information (even though they did raise it to 5 today). I work at Ginna and we are getting daily briefs. (All nukes around the world are "networked" through the NRC) And we are being told not to believe what the media is saying.

Just wondering what someone on the ground over there is experiencing or hearing.
They were upgraded to level 5 today, but they are being told less than embassies of other countries are telling their residents.
All of my friends have internet and power.

Catherina (my friend from china) just got back. She flew there the day after the quake (she had a vacation planned). I'll see if I can get some information from her.

and watching it a second time.... at 7:56 the camera man zooms in (it was bothering me as to why he wasn't watching the waves coming directly at him).. zooms in and you can see someone on foot to the right of the car on the road, running. Most certainly doomed as that huge wave follows.
