The slightest movement by the fish (causing the slime on the surface to move) did him in, don'tcha think? That old bird has probably been fishing long enough to know exactly where to grab when he sees that shifting slime. :lol: Nice shots Mike!

I was actually thinking of posting similar shots of my potato cannon, but alas my ignition system broke and I'm not going to be able to repair it anytime soon....

The heron may also be able to feel the vibrations of the fish moving in the water and home in on it that way. I spent probably 45 minutes watching this guy. These were taken at Durand-Eastman Park, at the back part of Durand Lake near the Trott Lake spillway.
