I love that photo. I wish that there wasn't a road in the background--it would make a neat print.

On the subject of how to photograph people..I have been known to hide behind many a tree! However the best approach I have found is to ask permission to take the photo. Most times they are happy to let me take the photo. Sometimes I will ask permission and take an address and send them a copy of the photo.
I was taking a photo of a bench in Pittsford and a little girl up and sat down on the bench. Her Mother was mortified! I asked if I could take her photo on the bench and that I would send copies of the photos. I did and she let me photograhp her daughter.
Hope this helps..Sandi
Sandi, interesting idea and glad it works for you. However, I bet it works better for women than men - especially when kids are involved. I'd be very hesitant to give my address to a stranger with a camera unless he/she could provide me with a legitimate-looking photography business card and/or I got a very "safe" vibe from him/her.
Bill takes the prize for the second month in a row...
Why...? Because it's cute and tells a great story.
Bill, PM me your prize selection.

Congrats Bill! Personally the old couple was the favorite of mine, but none the less you had a lot of great shots for this challenge!
Congrats Bill! That's a great shot, I love the people in the background too.
Thanks everyone. I appreciate it.
To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams.
