A note from the NYFalls.com founder:
Due to a company restructuring, I will be losing my full time job soon. Although it saddens me to leave the company that I have helped build up for the last 14 years to the success it is today, I am looking forward to new opportunities. I am known for my technical, managerial, and creative abilities, and I hope to utilize all of those talents in my next career. I put together a résumé outlining my skills and projects. Please have a look. Although I am open to any management position, I would like to leverage my experience and success with NYFalls.com and NYHistoric.com into a career in the WNY travel/tourism industry. If I were to make the jump to canon, this would be my first lens

Hypothetically, would you consider this one instead - to go even wider?

I am looking for a wide angle as well for a Nikon N80 SLR. Currently have a NIkkor 35-80 and 70-300. I'm finding I need something wider for landscape as well as some other ventures. Any good suggestions?

Great glass, just pops out in pictures. Been blessed to have nice lenses. Really just use two, 95% of the time, both canon glass. the 24-105, and 70-200 ( with 1.4 extender). Get image stabilization. If you invest in a good lense get stabilization.

If you think you need a bunch of lenses, maybe reconsider. I encourage getting one really great lense vs primes and specials. Then add as that great lense doesn't fill a special need. I just bet you will not be unhappy.

One more thought. Had a simpler 70-200 lense and put it on Craig's list. Sold in 48 hours, tons of calls. Good glass has good aftermarket.
