Bummer. Why do you think that is? Did you get ants in the feeder or anything? We have tons of them here. It's at the point in the season where they're emptying the feeders before it's time to change them. I caught this boy at the feeder on my office porch Fri. morning. It's a lousy angle but he took me by surprise and they don't pose for long. They're pretty brave as long as you stand still.

I clean the feeder every 3 days so so. No bugs at all. I have "ant gaurds" on the feeder. I must not be watching it at the right times.

I was playing around with the video feature on my camera late this morning, trying to get some footage of the hummingbirds. I didn't realize that the audio was on until I went to edit the video. I just had the camera sitting in the open window, with CMT on the TV in the background. The audio is weak, not that the video is great either, but it's still pretty cute:

Brenda, that is great! Made me laugh - it's like he was jamming to CMT!

the flying looks almost unrealistic.

FYI, the reason Matt has not seen any hummingbirds is because the feeder is empty. :rimshot:

Brenda, That was a great video, it looks like they are just "chillin'" to some music while having a drink!

Thanks guys. I'm glad you enjoyed it too. My husband often has one of the music channels on (Fuse, IMF, CMT) while we're in and out puttering around, so I didn't even think about the TV being on when I set up the camera. We were joking last night that, if I had the time and inclination, I could set it up to get hummingbirds jammin' to all sorts of music! It had never occurred to me how sensitive they are to the noises from inside the house, but now I see that they react to anything, even the changes in pitch in voices on commercials.

You're right Matt, the flying does look unrealistic. If anyone besides technologically challenged me had taken the video, I would think that it had been altered! My software only allows me to trim, and splice (but I haven't attempted that yet).
