Ah....I know you too well. I thought you might point that out.....but, yeah - I did take it yesterday.Brenda wrote:They also use spider webs to "glue" their nests together, though that's certainly not the case at this point in the season.

Wow guys! I may have to use one of the photos in this thread as a model for my tattoo artist when the time comes (with permission of course)!

Great shot Kelly...looks like you've been spending a lot of time in the backyard this summer.
To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams.

Thanks, Bill - and yes. As an avid gardener, I'm enjoying the results of 20 years of backbreaking yardwork. In a newly built development, when we moved in 2 decades ago, our yard was nothing more than a bare plot with the crappiest dirt you can imagine. Slowly and methodically I've managed to transform it into my own little paradise and I've finally decided to quit creating and start enjoying!Bill_K wrote:Great shot Kelly...looks like you've been spending a lot of time in the backyard this summer.

As I mentioned previously, I've decided that I want a tattoo of a male ruby-throated hummingbird for my 50th birthday which is next June. I've decided that I want "him" approaching a wild columbine flower, so here's the challenge: I need a male hummingbird, in flight, in full sun (so his throat shows red), looking up. I would prefer to have the colors of his back showing too, so it will have to be from the side (to a certain extent). Your reward? Having an artist's rendition of your photo on my calf for the rest of my life.
