Spotted Touch Me Nots

I'm going to have to return in october to see them when they seed. The seed pods on these are very cool. When you touch them, they "explode" and drop their seeds.

The extract is used to help with fungal infections.

We have Touch Me Nots/Jewelweed all over the property (because of the creek). There are fun to pop. The extract is also supposed to be good for poison ivy and stinging nettle.

Thanks! That field is pretty much past blooming now, but we have another variety in bloom (smaller patch--1/2 acre?), and the sweet corn is ready! Do you think that we'll get enough sunflower seed to fill the bird feeders through the winter (and replant next year, and feed the pheasant & turkey through the winter, and...)?

I don't know...You should take before and after pictures of the birds out there, I am sure we will see a significant difference, also I was thinking that they may have great difficulty flying with all the weight gain.

I tend to agree with ya that the last one is a trillium, the person I was hiking with when I took the middle picture said it was a trillium, I'm not a floral person so I didn't disagree.
