These are two different coyotes. The first was mousing, and came up empty. The second was scavenging a wolf-killed carcass (and risking his life doing so). He has a scrap of fur with some meat on it that he buried at the base of a tree in a brushy area. As soon as he went back to the carcass, a raven who had been watching him from up in a tree swooped down and started scraping off the dirt.
