Well I'm back safe and sound from my road trip to Yellowstone and back. Had a great time and can't wait to do the trip again. I am not finished with all the photos and haven't even started editing any video but I thought I would show a few of the shots I have finished. I mostly have been working on the wildlife shots and have just started scenery and landscape stuff.

Awesome! The claws on that grizzly are amazing.
Look forward to seeing more.

Awesome shots Chris...glad to see you weren't lunch for the grizzly. How close were you actually to that grizzly?
To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams.

great shots Chris. Did you happen to snap any photos of people peeing in Old Faithful? or at least get to pee in it yourself?

great shots Chris, Did you go on your own or were you on a guided tour? I'll be out there in mid August for 2 days on a tour of the 4 corners region.

Thanks everyone, it was truly an unbelievable experience. I will have more scenic shots soon.
About 25 to 30 yards, I am just off the road standing with my small 300mm lens around 20 other people with their 800mm lens on tripods. There also is a creek between the bear and the crowd that you can't see in the pic.Bill_K wrote:Awesome shots Chris...glad to see you weren't lunch for the grizzly. I don't think I would try it those kids got fired and banned from Yellowstone. They are lucky they still have something to pee with.Matt wrote:great shots Chris. Did you happen to snap any photos of people peeing in Old Faithful? or at least get to pee in it yourself?
We did everything ourselves, no tour. Before leaving I spent many hours on Yellowstone.net that has up to date trip reports and some great photography. It also has a Old Faithful webcam to watch drunk workers pee on it. I wouldn't pay for a tour unless you are looking for something real specific like otters, sandhills, etc. Most of the time people spot something before you do and you only need to look for a bunch of stopped cars.backpacker wrote:great shots Chris, Did you go on your own or were you on a guided tour?
