Julie got this awesome shot of the tiniest spotted turtle at the Frederick Houghton Preserve bog near Springville. It was only a few inches long! Check out the fingertip on the bottom left of the pic for scale.

That is cute.
Its nice to see a spotted turtle now and then, since most we see are painted and snapping turtles. Years ago i found one in the middle of the road with a small hole in its shell. You could see its lung moving as it breathed.I took it to a vet hoping they could fix it up, dont know how they made out with it though.

I've seen lots of that kind up at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge. It's called a striped turtle I think.
