Thank you ladies,
I'm sure you’re correct on my bush being a Philadelphus lewisii. I went out and measured the leaves and they fall within the dimensions listed. When I bought my house many years ago I though it was a honeysuckle bush (I have a ton of them around the property) but then it flowered and the flowers were different. Nobody knew what it was in fact a friend took a branch to his mother and she had a name for it but I don’t remember what she called it. It wasn’t “Lewis Mock orange” I’m surprised that it’s growing here when they have it listed as a western plant. I’ll have to clear out the grape vines and give it room to grow.
Thanks again,
Jim

PS a bowl of ice cream does sound good, Vanilia with pure maple syrup on top 8)

Matt
I just read your tree ID section, are you going to include bushes? I have a good tree to put on but you have to waite about 10 months to see the flower :( I'll get some pictures of the rest in the next day or 2 or 3.

bushes may not be included in the tree ID guide, but they can be a part of that board section.

Bushes are a massive undertaking in themselves.

:rotfl: I'll second that!

Jim, I do think that shrubs would be a nice addition. Oh, and by the way, we have the same problem with wild grape vines here. If we let them, they'd take over the place like Kudzu!
