I was out to palmyra and that park there is very nice...
the falls is man made and turns on and off as they use the canal lock, which is interesting enough. Tough to get a shot though.

I went out to Palmyra today to get some shots of the falls there. It was raining quite a bit, but I figured it's the only way for me to get overcast skies now. I really like this falls. the aqueduct ruins make it unique... but there is really no good way of shooting it.

Yes, I concentrated on Montour Falls.
Tough shooting all day but I managed to get enough photos an info for 4 profiles. Havana Glen was great... but there were a lot of drunken people there- the creek smelled like piss and alcohol.

I got enough for Hector Falls - I am going to concentrate on knocking down some good fall shots of all the surrounding areas this year - Watkins Glen, Montour Falls, Carpenter's, along with getting back to Three Falls Woods when the water level finally goes back up to reasonable levels.

if it's good waterfall shooting weather, then I'll be some place out west.. I've been neglecting WNY.

If not... then I may visit a few parks in the area or maybe kayaking on Canandaigua.

on sunday we went to Millard Filmore again and took a few shots of the cowsheds......i have not seen the water there this low......

but since we are all just getting over horrible colds we did not go to the others ... waiting for more rain and a little more waterflow..... and slightly stronger constitutions..... lol.....

but as usual not a single soul was there and it was silent and peaceful,....

great painting!

We went out to Indian Falls on Saturday. Interesting Area. The falls was a trickle. and I couldn't see a way to get a shot of it. It doesn't look like that will be one that can be photographed with ease.

We then headed out to Akron Park and found that the creek was bone dry. That park is very nice though.

So Sunday we went to Ontario Beach Park to shoot for a Lake Ontario profile.

Ugh, I was actually going to post on both of those

Went up to Indian Falls, but boy is it difficult getting a good view...the restaurant right by there was really the only public location on that side of route 77, but at the time of my arrival, there were nearly 50 bikers parked in there milling outside and there's no way I'm nerding it up with my camera bag and middle-class white clothing

then tripped it up to Akron park, found by mistake because I forgot the directions, but that was bone dry as well...must look great during the spring though

On Sunday we went down to Naples for the Grape festival. It was busy. A little too busy. Although Naples is great this time of year, besides the wine, there were much in the way of grape-themed vendors. There were numerous things to eat and buy, but little in the way of grape-flavored baked goods, drinks, candy, scented items, etc. Abbotts was selling grape custard, but I think they were trying to pass off black raspberry to make a buck. We did buy a pound of fresh taffy and I single handedly ate a bucket’s worth of french-fries (with bacon and cheese).

We ended up going to the reliable Joseph's Wayside Market to pick up several gallons of fresh concord grape juice, sparkling grape/raspberry juice and then out to Monica's for some Grape Pie, which is absolutely the best pie I have ever had (sorry mom).

A couple of my guests were there on Sunday as well. They also commented on the lack grape "stuff." They went on the Sky Ride at Bristol Mountain while they were in that neck of the woods and they said that they enjoyed that.

Had a good weekend, got 4 waterfalls done.
We went to Stonybrook, Letchworth, Wolcott Falls & Chimney Bluffs, then on the way home we stoped at Chittenango Falls. I posted pictures of Chittenango and Wolcott, will post the other two when I decide which ones to post.

Did you see the "leaf art" someone created in the creek in Stony Brook downstream near the swimming area? I'll post a photo when I get a chance. Probably tomorrow.

Hey Chris
no I missed the leaft art, I went down by the foot bridge below the swimming area via the grounds and not the creek :(

Hope you got some good picks,
I"m going to have a hard time picking two or three to post.
