Was the trail "open"?
"Open" enough to walk on, but I can't say what it looks like now after this snow....

Well not worried about that I have snowshoes...but know that most State Parks with a gorge close at least the trails closer to the water. Other than Letchworth 2 years ago....I've never really ventured out waterfalling in the winter.

For anyone that has not been here, if you go when the water flow is low you will want to walk the whole trail... I did not know about the top falls so I did not go off the trail. That would have been nice to see. The buttermilk like falls was not flowing at all (late August 2012).

This was my first time there, but it was still worth seeing. I would like to get back sometime when there is more water. The good thing about low flows is that you get to appreciate the rock formations.

By the way Matt, great site and thank you for providing all of this great information. You NY residents are lucky having all of these great waterfalls! What would you say is your favorite place that you have visited?

Took a trip there today to cool off. Always amazing how the top park of the park is always deserted

Great one, Matt! I was in your neighborhood today. You certainly are in the heart of it all!

I am wise, because I've been foolish.
