The ONLY good pictures I've ever taken at this park have been on overcast days in the fall with nobody around. The summer is usually overrun with people playing at the base of all the falls.
In terms of getting good shots in the summer when there are so many people, go with a huge group of people...that way you can just push people out of the waterfalls and take over
I've been here twice this year and both times had no problem getting pictures, most people would step out and let me shoot. I had a hard time choosing picks to post.
I loved the park - my only issue with it was that it's not big enough. The creek walk is wonderful, one of the few parks where there isn't the constant "you're not allowed in the stream bed or near the falls stay on the trail at all times and make sure you don't have any fun" signage. Being able to get down into the stream when you wanted made for some excellent shots. Yes - lots of people, but not too bad (it was rather rainy). Most confined themselves to the playground areas it seems...
A thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity, stability and beauty of the biotic community. It is wrong when it tends otherwise.

In trying to come up with a pretty place to take my brother and sis in law from Hawaii, this park sticks in my mind - especially if it's hot.
Re: the hike to get to the best parts...and the "pools" for splashing around in. Are there some that don't require lots of effort to get to?
