Here are some shots I took of these GORGEOUS waterfalls! I love that you can get right down to the base of them with an easy quick walk on the trail. And the fossilized rocks on the side of the gorge are gorge-ous (yes, pun intended)

I didnt see a thread for Fall Creek, so I'll post here. Is the rest of the gorge gone forever? We tried making it up to the rest of the falls but were unable to locate all but one. Which I believe is Rocky Falls which is viewable from the pedestrian suspension bridge. Not a enjoyable falls to look at, with the powerlines obstructing the view. Now, I know I needed to continue up to the Thurston Ave bridge in order to have seen Triphammer Falls. But will the trails ever be re-opened and/or will you be able to get down into the creek?

We were down in the gorge last September. The trails are blocked off now?

These are all viewable from the bridges and walkways above. Last fall I was able to hop a rope to access the trails.

Two men die in separate areas of Fall Creek Gorge in Ithaca this weekend
http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/ ... areas.htmlIthaca, NY - Ithaca police are investigating the deaths of two men who died within hours of each other Saturday, in separate areas of Fall Creek Gorge in Ithaca.
About 1 p.m., someone called police to say there was a body in the gorge, east of the suspension bridge on Fall Creek Drive.
A man, who police say is affiliated with Cornell University, was found dead in the gorge, Ithaca police said in a news release. The man's name will not be released until police contact his family.
Then, around 4 p.m., Ithaca police and firefighters were called to help a man trapped under the water in Ithaca Falls, in the 300 block of Lake St., police said. Fall Creek Gorge includes Ithaca Falls.
Several witnesses told police the man was swimming near the falls, went under the water and never came up, according to a news release.
