I haven't been there.... I'm just exploring a bit with some new mapping software I'm running a demo of. I found roughly 6 or 7 major falls on that allegeny ridge. I'm putting an update together for next month with another 50 or so waterfall locations.

Zookeeper to give talk about endangered snail
The tale of an endangered snail will be told at [e]2:30 p.m. Aug. 17[/e]when Rosamond Gifford zookeeper Joe Brown will give a talk in the program room of Chittenango Falls State Park.
Brown will discuss the Chittenango Ovate Amber Snail, one of New York's most endangered animals. Only a few hundred tiny snails are believed to be living precariously on the limestone ledges of the 167-foot waterfall at the scenic Madison County park.
Researchers from the state Department of Environmental Conservation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and State University College of Environmental Science and Forestry have combined recovery efforts with two Upstate zoos - Rosamond Gifford at Burnet Park in Syracuse and the Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester. Captive breeding programs at the zoos currently demonstrate promising results. The dime-sized creatures were first discovered at Chittenango Falls in 1905.
The public is invited to attend the free program. A park admission fee of $4 per vehicle applies.

Looks like there's still quite a bit of snow there.
