A note from the NYFalls.com founder:
Due to a company restructuring, I will be losing my full time job soon. Although it saddens me to leave the company that I have helped build up for the last 14 years to the success it is today, I am looking forward to new opportunities. I am known for my technical, managerial, and creative abilities, and I hope to utilize all of those talents in my next career. I put together a résumé outlining my skills and projects. Please have a look. Although I am open to any management position, I would like to leverage my experience and success with NYFalls.com and NYHistoric.com into a career in the WNY travel/tourism industry. If you know of a company that would benefit from someone with talents and experience, please spread the word. Thank you for your help and support.

Great shot. I love the added character of that old mill that lends itself to these falls. I'm heading east Sunday, don't know where yet but Moravia might be it.

Now, finally got up to the biggest falls on Decker Creek. There is one more above the big one, accessible by a path to the left of this falls. Nice creekwalk, I see some of the falls on Decker Creek used to be called 'Pierce's Falls' and 'Punchbowl Falls'. Lots of old factories. To get here I just parked at Indian Mound, took the trail down to where I would hit Montville Falls, and just bear left and go up Decker Creek instead, climbing a couple of smaller 10-15' waterfalls along the way.

yes they are!

Very nice satelite shot! I was able to zoom in and follow downstream and I think I spotted the Punchbowl and its smaller falls. Could almost recreate my old hikes!

I think the falls in question are these two:

Look like a decent size too!!

I am thinking that the falls this guy was trying to see was the "Hatfield" falls which are discussed on another thread. (I think Oak Timber's picture may have been of those falls, although I couldn't open it up, but he describes it as being quite a ways up the creek from the other pics in this thread).

I did use to go to the "Punchbowl" and the other rapids below that point in the winter, but that was approaching from the west. (Coming from 38A, this guy would have been approaching from the east side)

As a kid there were no posted signs on the west side of the ravine. From my house it was not a bad hike up Oak Hill and across a cornfield to the point where I picked up a deer trail that threaded down the ravine. The dropoff was not too bad, but I remember the dropoff on the other side looking worse. I never went too far above the Puchbowl in the winter though.

Here is a link to the other thread: http://www.nyfalls.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3261
And I found this website too: http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/577984201rnojyJ

am hoping some of you who are exploring my old haunts will post some spring pictures!

Very sad. It is really icy and wet out there.

I personally would not choose to go in this weather.
